Bartlett Lake 4-23-17

First (and only) mate, Lisa, and I went to Bartlett Lake, nestled in the Tonto National forest, east of Carefree Arizona, for our maiden voyage of 2017. After testing to ensure the engine would start subsequent to setting idle in the carport for 5 months, we headed to the lake, arriving at about 10:00. The parking lot had a lot of vehicles with trailers, but the lake was surprisingly void of boat traffic. Lisa drove for a while, while I lounged up front enjoying the desert scenery. We pulled into a cove, and I launched myself from the bow into the cool water. After swimming for a few minutes, I re-boarded and off we went. Lisa packed sandwiches, Gatorade, snacks and plenty of water. We had our lunch and stopped for another quick cool down in the small cove. We were on the water for about 4 1/2 hours leaving at the lake at 3:00.
